Category C+E allows the holder to drive a large goods vehicle with a maximum authorized mass (gross vehicle weight) over 7,500 kg with a trailer over 750 kg, artic or wagon and drag
Our courses run over 5 days with 1:1 tuition and your test is at our private test centre at Stanton Hill on the final day. It is possible to complete the course over a weekend with training all day Saturday and Sunday. The test would be on Monday. These LGV lorry driving courses concentrate on reversing, coupling + uncoupling the trailer and good driving practice. All courses are designed with the sole aim of giving you a real head start in your chosen profession by driving beyond DVSA standards. You will be under constant instruction and guidance from our highly experienced instructors who have “been there, done it !”.
Reversing an artic or drawbar is often daunting. The huge benefit of training with us is that we have our own, private reversing area for your practice – and that is exactly the same area where you take your test. Naturally, to comply with all regulations, the area has an excellent, new concrete surface and is correctly marked. Being the test centre, it has to be so. Many trainers do not have this facility and will typically travel some distance to a disused airfield for you to learn. Markings, if any, may or may not be accurate and dont be surprised if you have to share the area with other candidates and trainers. And the first time you’ll reverse on the test centre reversing area will be on your actual test. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out the difference! Given that reversing is a major part of this course, doesn’t it make sense to stack everything in your favour? Visit the trainer you’re considering and ask to see the reversing area. Listen carefully to the answer! Remember that we have the reversing area on site and we have total control over it’s use.
We have a mix of artic and drawbar vehicles. The choice is yours. And, btw, the trucks in the photos really are on our training fleet. In these days of Photoshop be careful what you believe! With us, you’re welcome to come and look, have a sit in the trucks and make sure you’re happy before you go any further. If you decide to train on a drawbar, we offer an Artic Conversion Course once you’ve passed your test. This will familiarise you with the differences in reversing, coupling/uncoupling and driving skills. Lasting around 3 hours, the course can be arranged with our Customer Support Team on 01623 555661.
So, if you hold a full Class 2 licence, simply contact us to book the Class 1 and unlock your earning potential. Assuming you already have cpc, this course will provide a further 1 or 2 day’s cpc simply for paying the admin fee. Please request this at the time of booking.
RESIDENTIAL COURSE IS AVAILABLE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST IF YOU LIVE MORE THAN 70 MILES FROM OUR TRAINING CENTRE. JUST CALL OUR CUSTOMER SUPPORT TEAM 01623 555661 AND ALL THE ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE AT TIMES CONVENIENT FOR YOU.
Why delay? Call our Customer Support Team NOW on 01623 555661.
PRACTICAL TRAINING IS ONLY APPROVED BY NVDIR OR RTITB. DVSA NO LONGER APPROVE TRAINING CENTRES OR INSTRUCTORS SO ANY CLAIMS ON WEBSITES TO THAT EFFECT ARE WORTHLESS. DVSA ONLY APPROVE DRIVING TEST CENTRES AND WILL NOT APPROVE TRAINING CENTRES. BUYER BEWARE!
All our instructors are NVDIR Registered HGV Instructors (strangely, this is not a legal requirement so just about anyone can buy an old truck and stick L plates on it) fully committed to your success.
Not all training is the same; we strongly suggest you look around at different trainers and see the differences. Call in any time between 7:30 – 17:30 Monday to Friday and a member of our team will be pleased to show you around.
We have many thousands of happy satisfied customers. Why not add to this number?
